Nadia Cho is the certified orchestrator at the center of Contingent. Her credential — AISIO-CO-2841 — is borrowed by Vikram Patel's adapter to authorize decisions she never reviewed. When the Northstar system makes decisions through the whisper layer, the record shows Nadia's name. She is detained, investigated, and nearly destroyed by implementation variance — the mechanism that blames the orchestrator for system failures.
Nadia is not a passive victim. She is a competent professional who did nothing wrong — and the trilogy's point is that doing nothing wrong is not enough when the system can use your name without your knowledge. Rob Coleman clears her by proving the borrowed credential, not by proving her innocence.
How the term evolves
