How version updates work
The Condition Set is a living trilogy. Books get revised — prose passes, continuity fixes, corrected editions. When you buy direct, you can download the current EPUB from your account any time. No re-purchase, no update queue, no limit on how many times you re-download.
Amazon and Apple allow updates too, but with constraints. Amazon limits how often a Kindle file can be pushed to existing customers. Apple Books updates more freely but requires the file to pass their review process. Both platforms sit between you and the file.
What about drafts?
Books in development — like a new book in the trilogy — may be available as drafts. Drafts are labeled as such. You always know what's finished and what's a work in progress.
If a draft relates to a book you already own (for example, a revised edition of Contingent), we send you an email. You decide whether to read the draft or wait for the finished version. Amazon doesn't offer drafts. Apple doesn't either. This is something only the author's site can do.
How often do books update?
If a book is not labeled draft, expect only small cosmetic changes — prose polishing, typo fixes, continuity corrections. These are the kind of updates you might not even notice. They don't change the story.
If a book is labeled draft, expect more substantial changes — new chapters, revised scenes, shifting plot details. That's the point of a draft. You're reading along with the writing process.
The web reader
