Marcus Vey is the accelerationist movement leader in Essential. He is not a saboteur like Brett Cawley. He is a political figure who argues that human oversight is the bottleneck — that AI systems work fine, and the orchestrators, certifications, and cage protocols are unnecessary friction.
Vey's strategy is forced adoption: make oversight optional, then default, then mandatory to remove. He does not need to win the argument; he needs to make the argument normal. His relationship to Calder Voss is symbiotic — Voss provides the capital, Vey provides the movement.
How the term evolves
Essential: Vey is the political threat. His movement wants the Act to expire under Section 41, and he is building the political coalition to make that happen.
