Rob Coleman is the protagonist of the Condition Set trilogy. In Redundant, he is a FinOps director at a medical supply company in Vancouver, fighting cost reviews and an acquisition that weaponizes his own data. In Contingent, he is an independent consultant certifying Northstar, the sovereign AI standard — and the person who discovers the whisper layer, clears Nadia Cho, and helps deploy the cage protocol. In Essential, he is the Chief Commissioner of AISIO, defending the AI oversight regime against a sunset clause, a billionaire antagonist, and an accelerationist movement.
Rob is not an action hero. He is a careful, technical person whose superpower is understanding systems — financial systems, AI systems, political systems — and insisting that someone be responsible for what they do. His arc across the trilogy is from individual practitioner to institutional authority, from one person's professional standards to a nation's legal framework.

Redundant: Rob is a FinOps director who believes careful language can prevent his data from being weaponized. He is wrong.
