The triad is the trilogy's first example of a pattern that recurs throughout: systems that were built separately, that overlap functionally, and that nobody wants to consolidate because each one has an owner, a budget, and a political constituency. Project Unicorn — the plan to replace people with AI — is built on the back of this consolidation.
How the term evolves
Redundant: The triad is the FinOps problem. Rob identifies the overlap; the acquisition weaponizes it.
